Statement as of 8:16 PM MDT on July 07, 2015

The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Mesa County in west central Colorado...

* until 1015 PM MDT

* at 813 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms moving slowly thorugh the Mack and Loma vicinities.
This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in the advisory
area... which includes Interstate 70 and Highway 6 and 50 near Mack
and Loma.

Up to one and a half inches of rain has already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Loma... Mack... Interstate 70 and Highway 5 and 50 near Loma and
Mack.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around... dont drown. Never drive your vehicle into areas where
the water covers the roadway.

Heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water on roadways... as well as
minor flooding of small creeks and streams... and range and country
roads. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate
routes.

... The Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until
915 PM MDT for southwestern Mesa and southeastern grand counties...

At 802 PM MDT... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding in the
advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Gateway... and along State Road 141 south of Gateway.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water in urban areas...
highways... streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage
areas and low lying spots. Minor mud and rock slides are also
possible... as well as minor flooding of farm and country roads. Do
not attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.
