The Flood Warning continues for
the South Platte river near Balzac.
* Until late Tuesday night... or until the stream falls below flood
stage.
* At 9:30 am Sunday the stage was 9.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by Monday afternoon and continue
to rise to near 10.2 feet by Tuesday morning.The river will fall
below flood stage by Tuesday evening.
* Impact... at 10.0 feet... minor flooding occurs at Sterling.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 10.4 feet
on may 3 1999.

the South Platte river near Weldona.
* Until late Tuesday night... or until the stream falls below flood
stage.
* At 9:46 am Sunday the stage was 9.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 10.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by this evening and continue to
rise to near 10.3 feet by Monday evening.The river will fall below
flood stage by Tuesday evening.
* Impact... at 10.0 feet... there is widespread lowland and Meadow
flooding. Water rises over the Railroad tracks near masters.
Irrigation works are impacted.
* Flood history... this crest compares to a previous crest of 10.3 feet
on may 10 1969.

The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a

* small stream Flood Advisory for...
eastern Adams County in northeastern Colorado...
southeastern Morgan County in northeastern Colorado...
southwestern Washington County in northeastern Colorado...

* until 545 PM MDT

* at 241 PM MDT... thunderstorms producing heavy rain will continue
over the advisory area for the next hour. Up to one inch of rain
has already fallen in some areas.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Anton... Twelve-Mile corner... Woodrow... woodlin school... Adena
school... Elba... Lindon... Gary... Shamrock... Adena and Last Chance.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not
attempt to travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of east central Colorado and northeast Colorado...
including the following areas... in east central Colorado...
north and northeast Elbert County below 6000 feet/North
Lincoln County. In northeast Colorado... central and East Adams
and Arapahoe counties... Logan County... Morgan County...
northeast Weld County... Phillips County... Sedgwick County and
Washington County.

* Until midnight MDT tonight

* thunderstorms may produce 1 to 2 inches of rain in less than
an hour.

* The ground is already saturated from previous rains and any
additional heavy rain will result in flash flooding in some
areas. The most sensitive areas will be across Logan County
where flooding is ongoing in North Sterling.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
