The National Weather Service in Goodland has cancelled the Winter Storm Warning. The Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect until 5 PM MST /6 PM CST/ this afternoon. * Timing/duration... strong winds will create areas of blowing and drifting snow today. Winds will diminish to 15 mph around sunset. * Winds/visibility... northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts around 40 mph will create blowing and drifting snow. Visibility will be reduced to around a mile at times in some areas. * Other impacts... roads will remain icy and snow packed today. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Weather Advisory for blowing snow means that strong winds will create areas of blowing and drifting snow... resulting in slippery roads and areas of reduced visibility. Use extra caution while driving.
