Statement as of 7:34 AM MST on December 08, 2009 ... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MST this evening... A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MST this evening. * A strong winter storm will move through the region today and continue to produce snowfall through this afternoon. * Total snow accumulations are expected to range from 4 to 8 inches. * Southwest winds ranging from 10 to 20 mph with gusts as high as 30 mph will generate localized areas of blowing and drifting snow... today. * Utah State Police highly discourage unnecessary travel tonight along Interstate 70 from the Colorado border to Green River due to blowing snow and dangerously low visibilities. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible. |
