A freeze warning remains in effect until 9 am MDT Monday.

A dry... cold airmass combined with mostly clear skies and light
winds will result in very cold temperatures across the valleys of
eastern Utah and western Colorado tonight. Though some areas saw
brief... localized freezing temperatures early Sunday morning its
unlikely that a widespread vegetation killing freeze occurred.
However... temperatures tonight are expected to be colder and will
likely drop below 32 degrees in many areas late tonight... sinking
into the lower and mid 20s by sunrise Monday morning.

A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.

At 5:27 this morning, the low temperature in Grand Junction, as
measured at the Grand Junction regional Airport, dipped to 29
degrees. This sets a new record low for October 12, breaking the
previous record of 30, last set in 1986.

Unseasonably cold temperatures this morning, set new record lows at
several stations for October 12.

Across eastern Utah,

At Cedar Point, the low of 23, broke the previous record of 26, set
in 2001.

At hovenweep, the low of 24, tied the record low from 1982.

At Monticello, the low of 19, broke the previous record of 20, set
in 1966.

Across western Colorado,

At Grand Junction, the low of 29, broke the previous record of
30, last set in 1986.
