Statement as of 4:14 AM MDT on October 11, 2008 ... Wind Advisory in effect from 6 am this morning to 6 PM MDT this afternoon... The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 6 am this morning to 6 PM MDT this afternoon. A strong Pacific storm will lift northeast across the Great Basin today. Ahead of this storm... gusty southwest winds will continue to blow. Wind speeds from 20 to 40 mph with gusts to 55 mph will be possible. The winds will switch around to the west and northwest late this afternoon and evening as a cold front sweeps through. A Wind Advisory means that winds of 30 to 40 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
