Debeque to Silt Corridor Severe Watches & Warnings NOAA Weather Radio

Special Statement
Statement as of 3:03 AM MDT on August 27, 2014

...Wet weather continues today with High Mountain snow possible...

An unseasonably cold low pressure system will be passing across eastern Utah and western Colorado today. Moisture wrapping around this low pressure system will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rain possible. Rainfall amounts approaching an inch will be possible in some areas of northeast Utah and northwest Colorado by late this afternoon.

Over the higher mountains...colder air filtering into the region will allow the rain to flip over to snow at elevations above 12000 feet. The best chance for snow will be this morning...before temperatures moderate and any snow changes back over to rain.

This fall-like system will be exiting the region tonight with drier and warmer weather moving back in as the weekend approaches. Anyone headed up into the high country today should be prepared for cool and wet conditions...along with the possibility of encountering some wet snow.
