A very warm air mass will persist over northwest California
this weekend. High temperatures are expected to remain above
normal across inland areas of northwest California through Sunday.
High temperatures will be in the 90s with a few warmer spots seeing
high temperatures of 100 to 105 degrees. In contrast... the coast is
expected to experience considerable cooling over the weekend as the
marine layer returns.

With the above normal temperatures expected to continue through
Sunday... Spring snow melt will be high. The snow melt along with
water release from dams will likely produce swift running currents
on the Trinity and Klamath rivers. Those seeking a refreshing dip
in the cool river waters should use extreme caution. Turbulent water
flow... hidden debris... and cold water temperatures can quickly bring
on a life threatening situation for anyone caught in the grip of a
strong river flow.

In addition... .west to northwest swell will continue to affect the
shores of northwest California this weekend. The swell will create
surf up to 8 feet... with sets up to 15 feet possible. Remember to
never turn your back to the ocean. Large sneaker waves may strike
with little or no warning and sweep you into the frigid and
turbulent waters.
