... Near record breaking minimum temperatures possible across
parts of the valley on Sunday morning...
Cold air that came in behind the storm system that brought windy
conditions to most of the valley will settle in and provide near
record breaking temperatures tonight and into Sunday morning.
Winds are expected to diminish tonight and strong radiation
conditions are expected to set up over the valley to provide the
chance of some patchy frost over the generally colder parts of the
valley. Most areas will see near or just below record temperature
values Sunday morning.
Forecast guidance is still keeping most of the valley above the
freezing mark tonight... however some sheltered locations may get
below freezing late tonight and into Sunday morning. Generally in
the rural outlying areas away from the larger Metro areas of
Fresno and Bakersfield. Temperatures are expected to be in the
middle to upper 30s tonight... with some locations possibly at 32
degrees for a couple of hours.
A frost advisory may be needed for tonight as new forecast
guidance comes in later today. Please stay tuned to your favorite
media source or to the NOAA all hazards radio for updates and
additional details concerning this potential weather hazard.
It may be necessary to protect plants and animals from potentially
freezing temperatures tonight and into Sunday morning.
