... Flash Flood Watch in effect from Tuesday afternoon through
Tuesday evening...

The National Weather Service in Reno has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for Lassen... eastern Plumas... eastern
Sierra... eastern alpine and Mono counties in California. The
Lake Tahoe basin and southern Washoe... Storey... Lyon... Carson
City... Douglas and Mineral counties in western Nevada.

* From Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening

* strong thunderstorms are forecast to develop Tuesday afternoon.
These storms will be capable of producing heavy rain and
increase the potential for flash flooding Tuesday afternoon and
evening.

* Much of the region has a higher potential for flash flooding due
to the very heavy rainfall over the last two days. Rapid
runoff may occur with only moderate rainfall totals on Tuesday.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Areas at greatest risk for a flash flood on Tuesday include burn
scars... locations impacted by flash flooding Sunday and/or
Monday... poorly drained urban areas and locations near steep
terrain. Mud... rock and debris flows may impact travel... never
attempt to drive through flood waters.
