Special Weather Statement
Statement as of 12:05 PM PST on November 14, 2009
... Active winter weather returns to the region toward the middle of next week... High pressure will build over northern California through Monday... with dry and tranquil Fall weather remaining over the region. However... unsettled and wintry weather will return by midweek... as a series of storms move through northern California. The first of the systems looks like it will move across northern California late Tuesday and into Wednesday... bringing some valley rain and mountain snow to the region. However... it will open the door for a stronger system late Thursday and Thursday night. Locally heavy rains... mountain snows... and breezy conditions are expected to develop Thursday and intensify Thursday night. The more active weather pattern may continue into next weekend. Travelers crossing mountain passes will likely have to Cope with heavy snowfall accumulations on Thursday... with snow levels dropping as low as 4500 ft by Thursday.
