Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:33 PM PST on November 16, 2009
... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 10 am Tuesday to 4 am
PST Wednesday...
The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect
from 10 am Tuesday to 4 am PST Wednesday.
Snow will begin to fall late tomorrow morning at elevations above
6000. However... as the cold front moves through the region late
tomorrow afternoon... snow levels will fall to around 4000 feet
Tuesday night. Snow totals will range between 5 and 10
inches... with higher amounts possible over the highest peaks.
Strong winds will also develop... with gusts up to 55 mph possible
over the highest peaks. These winds will also cause blowing and
drifting snow that may make driving difficult.
A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow and blowing
snow will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery
roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.
