Warnings and Notices
Wind Advisory
Statement as of 1:14 PM PST on November 15, 2009
... Wind Advisory now in effect until 6 PM PST this evening...
The Wind Advisory is now in effect until 6 PM PST this evening.
Areas of northeast winds 15 to 25 mph will continue this afternoon
with local gusts to 40 mph through and below passes and canyons.
The winds may cause areas of blowing dust with local visibilities
less than one quarter mile at times. The gusty northeast winds
should diminish this evening.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. The
winds will make driving difficult... especially for motorists with
high profile vehicles. Areas of blowing dust could reduce
visibility to near zero. Watch for broken tree limbs and downed
power lines.
Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 1:22 PM PST on November 15, 2009
... Red flag warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST this
afternoon for gusty winds and very low relative humidities...
A red flag warning remains in effect until 4 PM PST this
afternoon.
Areas of northeast winds 15 to 25 mph this afternoon with gusts
around 40 mph through and below passes and canyons are expected.
Relative humidities will fall to near 10 percent.
Minor recovery of humidities tonight... then humidities near 10
percent for Monday. Offshore winds will be weaker and more localized
Monday.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and above normal
temperatures will create explosive fire growth potential.
