A disturbance dropping southeastward across the Great Basin will reach the southern Rockies on Thursday. The system will kick up light snow showers in the Central and Southern Rockies. Snow accumulation is expected to fairly light, with only an inch or two at best over the San Juans and

southern Sangres mountains. Meanwhile, another disturbance moving out of northeastern Mexico will move into Texas. This energy will interact with moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will produce light rain showers in the Southern Plains. Elsewhere in the West, a warm front will move through western Washington, bringing light showers to the Pacific Northwest through the morning. Offshore flow and ridging could give clearing and

warmer temperature to the region by the afternoon.

In the East, a cold front from southern Canada will drop into the Great Lakes and Central Plains during the day. This system will kick up snow showers in parts of the Upper Great Lakes, primarily in northern Michigan. Elsewhere, high pressure builds over the Eastern Valleys with generally calm and dry weather conditions.

A high surf advisory remains in effect until 2 PM PST Friday.

* Waves and surf: 7 to 9 feet with sets to 12 feet along exposed
west facing beaches. Highest surf will be in South San Diego
County.

* Tides: high tide Thursday morning around 930 am at 6.1 feet.
High tide Thursday night around 1030 PM at 5.29 feet. High tide
Friday morning around 1020 am at 5.51 feet.

* Timing: through 2 PM PST Friday.

* Impacts: around the times of high tide... moderate beach erosion
and minor coastal flooding may occur. Larger waves will run well
up on the beaches. Water may wash over low sea walls... across

bottom of piers. During the times of low tide... expect breaking
waves across the mouths of Harbor and Marina entrances.
Dangerous rip currents will be present.
