... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 11 am PDT Thursday morning
through Thursday evening...

The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of central California...
including the following areas... Indian Wells Valley... Kern
County mountains and southeastern Kern County desert.

* From 11 am PDT Thursday morning through Thursday evening

* slow moving thunderstorms are expected to develop over the Kern
County mountains and deserts on Thursday during the late morning
and afternoon hours... persisting into the early evening hours.

* Burn areas including the grand fire burn scar near Frazier Park
and the way fire burn scar near Lake Isabella will be
vulnerable to flash flooding. Flood prone roads in the Kern
County deserts including The Red Rock Randsburg Road and Highway
14 near Red Rock Canyon will also be impacted. Lo0cally favored
arroyos and canyons as well as low lying areas will have the
potential for flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
