Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:10 PM PST on November 11, 2009
... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect until 4 am PST
Thursday...
The Winter Weather Advisory for western Plumas County is now in
effect until 4 am PST Thursday.
Light rain and snow showers have fallen over much of Plumas
County during the day on Wednesday... and are expected to increase
overnight. Snow levels above 6000 feet are expected to lower to
around 4000 to 4500 feet by Thursday morning. Accumulations up to
3 inches are expected... mainly over the higher elevations.
In addition... southwest wind gusts up to 35 mph will be possible
over the higher terrain tonight. A dusting of snow may occur at
the colder mountain basins including Chester.
Snow will decrease by Thursday morning.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
motorists should be prepared for snow covered roads and limited
visibilities due to a combination of falling and blowing snow. Use
caution when driving... especially in open areas.
