Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 8:48 PM PST on March 01, 2015

The National Weather Service in Oxnard has issued an

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
west central Los Angeles County in southwest California...
southern Ventura County in southwest California...
this includes the cities of... Thousand Oaks... Ventura...

* until 1130 PM PST

* at 836 PM PST National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated a
large area of moderate to heavy showers covering much Ventura County
and eastern Los Angeles County. Isolated thunderstorms have been
observed as well. A National Weather Service employee reported
standing water on roadways from Agoura Hills to Newbury Park. With a
line of showers and thunderstorms extending southward off of the
Malibu coast and moving northward... moderate to heavy rain will
continue for at least the next several hours. Rainfall rates with
these showers and thunderstorms will continue to be a quarter to a
half of an inch. Minor flooding of roadways and small streams will
continue to be a problem through late this evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water in urban areas...
highways... streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage
areas and low lying spots.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on
small creeks and streams... and ponding of water on country roads and
farmland along the banks of creeks and streams.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
