Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:40 PM PST on November 10, 2009
... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 7 PM Wednesday to 1 PM
PST Thursday...
The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow... which is in effect
from 7 PM Wednesday to 1 PM PST Thursday.
Snow will be possible over the higher terrain Wednesday evening
with snow levels initially above 7500 feet. Snow will increase
Wednesday night into Thursday morning becoming moderate to heavy
at times with snow levels lowering to around 5000 feet Thursday
morning. Accumulations of 3 to 5 inches will be possible above
6000 feet with up to 2 inches above 4000 feet. In addition...
southwest wind gusts to 50 mph will be possible over the higher
terrain Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Snow will decrease
Thursday morning with scattered snow showers continuing into
Thursday afternoon.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that
motorists should be prepared for snow covered roads and limited
visibilities due to a combination of falling and blowing snow. Use
caution when driving... especially in open areas.
