Special Statement
Statement as of 2:54 PM PDT on June 29, 2015

A ridge of high pressure is expected to build over the western
U.S. Resulting in a rapid rise in temperatures through midweek.
Temperatures are expected to peak on Wednesday with inland
temperatures expected to rise into the mid to upper 90s with
warmest inland locations reaching up to 108 degrees. A gentle sea
breeze will aid in keeping the immediate coast including much of
the San Francisco Bay area cooler.

If you are planning on working or recreating outdoors on Tuesday
or Wednesday please drink plenty of water and whenever possible
seek shelter from the heat. Never leave children or the elderly
unattended in a vehicle. Remember... beat the heat... check the back
seat. Also don't Forget about your pets. Never leave your pet
unattended in a vehicle and be sure to provide plenty of water and
shade to outdoor animals.

Slightly cooler temperatures are expected for the second half of
the week and into the weekend as high pressure over the region
gradually weakens.
