Statement as of 1:45 PM PDT on October 11, 2008 ... Frost advisory in effect from 2 am to 8 am PDT Sunday for the central and southern San Joaquin Valley... The National Weather Service in Hanford has issued a frost advisory for the central and southern San Joaquin Valley... which is in effect from 2 am to 8 am PDT Sunday. Diminishing winds and clear skies will allow temperatures to fall to record or near record levels tonight... as an unseasonably cool and dry airmass resides across central California. With dew points in the lower to middle 20s... temperatures outside of urban areas could easily fall to 31 or 32 degrees for a few hours overnight. Record lows for Sunday morning are 39 at Fresno and 38 at Bakersfield. A frost advisory means that frost is possible... especially in wind-sheltered rural areas.
