    ... Record high temperatures expected this week...

    A strong ridge of high pressure will remain over the western U.S.
    Through this week. As a result... very warm temperatures are
    expected. The high temperatures recorded across the region Monday
    through Wednesday could set new record highs for those dates at many
    locations in western Nevada and the eastern Sierra.

    Warm temperatures are expected to continue Thursday and Friday (july
    10th and 11th). However... many of the records from those dates were
    set during the historic heat wave of mid-July 2002... so the
    afternoon high temperatures on those dates are not expected to break
    the current records.

    Conditions will remain warm at night so some record warm low
    temperatures may also be set this week.

    The following table lists the current record high temperatures (with
    year of occurrence) for many locations across western Nevada and the
    eastern Sierra. The forecast high for each date is listed just
    below the record high.
