	Winter Weather Advisory
Statement as of 3:10 PM PST on November 11, 2009 ... Winter Weather Advisory now in effect from 7 PM this evening to 10 am PST Thursday... The Winter Weather Advisory is now in effect from 7 PM this evening to 10 am PST Thursday for the West Slope of the Sierra Nevada. Snow showers are forecast to develop over the higher terrain of the Sierra Nevada tonight and continue into Thursday morning. Snow levels around 7500 feet are expected to lower to 5000 to 6000 feet. Snowfall accumulations up to 3 inches are expected... mainly over the higher elevations... including the passes on Interstate 80 and highways 50 and 88. In addition... southwest wind gusts to around 35 mph will be possible over the higher terrain tonight. Snow will decrease Thursday morning. A Winter Weather Advisory for snow and blowing snow means that motorists should be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities due to a combination of falling and blowing snow. Use caution when driving... especially in open areas. Jhm
