Statement as of 6:38 PM PDT on July 05, 2015

The National Weather Service in Las Vegas has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
east central San Bernardino County in Southern California...

* until 830 PM PDT

* at 636 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain over the far southern areas of the Mojave National
preserve. This includes Interstate 40 and Goffs Road and the
National trails Highway. The storm is nearly stationary.

* Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of east central
San Bernardino County.

This includes Interstate 40 in California between mile markers 108
and 126... Goffs Road... National trails Highway.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Flash flooding is expected on roads... in normally dry washes and low
lying areas. Never try to cross a flooded Road or enter a flood
channel. Turn around... dont drown! Report flooding to the Las Vegas
National Weather Service via facebook or twitter.

Turn around... dont drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 5:17 PM PDT on July 05, 2015

... The Flood Advisory remains in effect until 700 PM PDT for
northeastern San Bernardino County...

At 516 PM PDT... Doppler radar indicated scattered thunderstorms
producing heavy rain over portions of the Mojave National preserve.
These storms where moving slowly southward and will likely continue
through 700 PM. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cima... Mitchell caverns... Black Canyon equestrian campground... Hole
In the Wall campground and mid hills campground... Morningstar mine
Road... Ivanpah Road.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross
safely. Move to higher ground.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to travel across
flooded roads. Find alternate routes. It takes only a few inches of
swiftly flowing water to carry vehicles away.
