Excessive Heat Warning
Statement as of 6:41 AM PDT on July 01, 2015

... Excessive heat warning remains in effect from 2 PM this
afternoon to 8 am PDT Friday...

* temperature... high temperatures 110-115... low temperatures 75-
80

* impacts... heat related illnesses possible to likely if action
not taken

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Take extra precautions... if you work or spend time outside. Know
the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear
light weight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink
plenty of water.

An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot
temperatures and warm overnight lows will combine to create a
dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink
plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of
the sun... and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in
vehicles under any circumstances.

a record high temperature of 113 degrees was set at Redding Airport
CA today. This breaks the old record of 111 set in 2014. It also
breaks the old downtown record of 112 set in 1950.
