Hard Freeze Warning
Statement as of 4:16 AM PST on December 26, 2014

...Hard freeze warning remains in effect until 8 am PST Saturday...

* temperatures and timing...wind sheltered areas will see temperatures fall into the upper 20s this morning and Saturday morning. There will be several hours of temperatures between 25 and 28 degrees.

* Impacts...a hard freeze can kill crops and sensitive vegetation...and harm outdoor pets and livestock. Extended exposure to cold can cause hypothermia.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A hard freeze warning means temperatures of 28 degrees or less for two or more consecutive hours are imminent. Protective measures to save crops and sensitive vegetation should be taken. Vulnerable animals and pets should be kept indoors in a house or barn. Exposed pipes should be wrapped to keep them from bursting.
