==Discussion==

A long episode of rain, at times heavy, continues. The ground,
already near saturation, has little ability to absorb further
rainfall.

Heavy rainfall is expected tonight and Thursday as the next frontal
system moves onto the BC coast. The heaviest amounts will be near
Howe Sound where rainfall amounts of over 100 mm are expected
through Thursday evening. For the Sunshine Coast amounts in excess
of 50 mm are expected through Thursday evening, with higher amounts
inland.

Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required.
Please monitor local media or weatheradio. Email reports of severe
weather to pacificstorm(at)ec.Gc.CA or tweet with the hashtag (hash)bcstorm.
