Special Weather Statement
Special Weather Statement
issued by Environment Canada
at 5:00 am PDT Wednesday 23 July 2014.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Special Weather Statement for:
=new= Metro Vancouver
=new= Greater Victoria
=new= Fraser valley
=new= Howe Sound
=new= Whistler
=new= Sunshine Coast
=new= southern Gulf islands
=new= East Vancouver Island.

Heavy rain later today.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
==Discussion==
a low pressure system just off the Washington coast will move inland
tonight. Moisture-laden air circulating around the low is now moving
northward from Washington and will produce locally heavy rain at
times over the lower Mainland and southern Vancouver Island. The
chance of heavy rain is greatest tonight.

Some computer models are suggesting excessive rain that may trigger
short-fuse rainfall warnings across the lower Mainland and southern
Vancouver Island later today.

The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as
warnings may be required or extended.

Please monitor the latest forecasts and warnings from Environment
Canada at www.Weatheroffice.Gc.CA
