A High Wind Warning remains in effect until 6 PM MST this
afternoon. A freeze warning remains in effect from 9 PM this
evening to 8 am MST Sunday.
For the rest today... expect southwest winds sustained at 35 to
50 mph with gusts from 55 to 75 mph as a cold front moves through
northeast Arizona. These conditions are being observed this
afternoon in the warning area!
These wind conditions will impact portions of I-40 from Two Guns
to the New Mexico border. Travelers should be ready for areas of
blowing dust that reduces visibilities to less than one mile.
A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph... or gusts
of 58 mph or more... are expected and can lead to property damage.
Cold and very dry air is moving into northern Arizona this
afternoon. This will lead to a hard freeze across the area
tonight through early Sunday morning.
A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or
highly likely. These conditions will kill crops and other
sensitive vegetation.
