Statement as of 3:25 PM MST on December 22, 2009 ... A winter storm continues to bring significant snowfall to northern Arizona... Snow started to fall early Tuesday morning over northern Arizona and has continued across much of the area today. Winter weather advisories and winter storm warnings will continue for most areas above 6000 feet tonight. The greatest accumulations so far have been over the higher terrain near the Grand Canyon and west of Flagstaff. Some storm total snowfall reports received between 230 and 300 PM MST include: Jacob Lake 15 to 16 inches Grand Canyon South Rim 8 to 10 inches Williams 5 to 8 inches Bellemont 3 inches Flagstaff 3 inches Clints Well 2 to 3 inches Forest lk chptr house (pinyon) 2 to 3 inches Page 1 to 2 inches Prescott (higher terrain) 1 to 2 inches Doney Park trace Kayenta trace |
