Scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue across much of Southeast Arizona through early this evening. The storms will produce locally heavy rainfall in excess of one inch that could result in areas of flooding. In addition...some blowing dust is possible which may locally reduce visibility...particulary on I-10 from Marana to Red Rock. The storms are drifting to the north at about 5 to 10 mph.

* at 538 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated a thunderstorm producing
heavy rain and likely flash flooding across central and eastern
Tucson. This expands and replaces the Flash Flood Warning in effect
for southwest Tucson.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Tucson...

Valley... along Arivaca Road northeast of Arivaca... and along
Highway 286 south of Three Points. Flash flooding is expected to
begin shortly.

Fresnal Canyon area. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Fresnal
Canyon... Topawa and South Komelik. Flash flooding of washes that
flow west across Route 19 is likely. These washes will flow west
to the Vamori wash.

The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a

* small stream Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Pima County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 745 PM MST

* at 537 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due Toa cluster
of thunderstorms that extend from GU Vo to Hickiwan. Radar
rainfall estimates indicate that amounts in excess of 1.5 inches
have likely fallen with these storms. This will cause small stream
flooding for San Simon and Santa Rosa washes.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Kuakatch... San Simon Village... GU Vo... Hickiwan... Pia Oik and Vaya
Chin.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of washes
and streams... as well as farm and country roads. Do not attempt to
travel across flooded roads. Find alternate routes.

Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the
roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross

* small stream Flood Advisory for...
northwestern Cochise County in southeastern Arizona...
east central Pima County in southeastern Arizona...

* until 645 PM MST

* at 448 PM MST... Doppler radar indicated that a cluster of showers
and thunderstorms on the east side of the Catalina and Rincon
Mountains and into northwest Cochise County have produced very
heavy rain. Radar rainfall estimates indicate that amounts of 1 to
1.5 inches have occurred with these storms... with isolated amounts
near 2 inches possible. This will cause small stream flooding
along the roadway between Redington and Cascabel. There are
numerous dips in this roadway and based on spotter reports... the
washes that cross the roadway are rapidly running with water.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Muleshoe ranch preserve... Cascabel and possibly Mescal.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause ponding of water in
urban areas... highways... streets and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage areas and low lying spots. Expect heavy flow in
normally dry washes. Do not attempt to travel across flooded roads.
