Scattered slow-moving thunderstorms developed today from the Interstate 17 corridor to The Four Corners and all areas south and east. Elsewhere only isolated activity was observed on radar and satellite. Weak flow aloft caused thunderstorms and showers to move slowly with thunderstorm outflows and as a result... flash flooding was a concern in some areas.
One Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued on Wednesday in northern Arizona. At 248 PM MST... a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was issued for nickel sized hail over central Gila County... 23 miles northeast of Roosevelt. A weather spotter near Payson reported a hail stone over 0.75 inches in diameter.
Two small stream flood advisories were issued on Wednesday in northern Arizona.
At 447 PM MST a small stream flood advisory was issued for up to two inches of rainfall over east central Navajo County... near Indian Wells.
At 535 PM MST a urban and small stream flood advisory was issued for over two inches of rainfall over south central Navajo County... near the communities of Snowflake and Taylor. Minor flooding was reported by law enforcement on Concho Highway.
