Statement as of 7:06 AM MDT on October 11, 2008 ... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM MST this afternoon... A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 4 PM MST this afternoon. An approaching storm system will bring periods of strong winds to portions of Yavapai and northern Gila counties beginning this morning and continuing into the afternoon. Expect sustained southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts near 50 mph and is expected to last through the afternoon. Winds will rapidly decrease by this evening. A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 to 39 mph... or gusts from 40 to 57 mph... are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Consider securing loose belongings on your property.
