Areal Flood Advisory
Statement as of 3:09 PM MDT on August 20, 2014

...The small stream Flood Advisory remains in effect until 530 PM MST for northwestern Coconino County...

At 307 PM MST National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated that light rain showers were continuing over the advisory area. However...the heavy rain rates had largely subsided.

Through 530 PM...expect increased flows and possible minor flooding along Kanab creek from 20 miles south of Fredonia southwestward toward the Colorado River.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

This includes the following streams and drainages... Kanab creek and Snake Gulch.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks...streams...and normally dry washes. Low water crossings may be impassable and ponding of water may occur on rural roadways. Do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.
