... Heat advisory remains in effect until 7 PM CDT Tuesday...
For the following counties...
In Arkansas...
Benton... Carroll... Washington and Madison.
Hot and humid conditions are expected across northwest Arkansas
for the next several days as high pressure aloft builds across
the area. Heat index values each afternoon are expected to be
around 105 degrees. Overnight lows in the 70s will offer little
relief from the heat. There may be some relief in the form of
isolated showers and thunderstorms tonight and Monday as a weak
boundary moves into the area.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is
expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity
will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are
possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned
room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and
neighbors.
