	Lake Wind Advisory
Statement as of 2:27 PM CST on December 08, 2009 ... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect from 9 PM this evening to 4 PM CST Wednesday... A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect from 9 PM this evening to 4 PM CST Wednesday. A strong storm will move from The Rockies into the upper Midwest tonight and Wednesday. High pressure will build in quickly behind the departing storm and the difference in pressure between these systems will produce winds of 15 to 25 mph across most of the forecast area... with higher gusts. The winds will be initially from the southwest but shift to more of a west to northwest direction behind a cold front that will move across the state tonight. The winds will begin to decrease late Wednesday afternoon as the high moves in and the storm system pulls away. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing. Anyone planning on using area lakes will need to use extreme caution through Wednesday afternoon.
