... Heat advisory in effect from 7 am to 7 PM CDT Tuesday...
The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a heat advisory... which is in effect from 7 am to 7 PM CDT Tuesday.
The combination of unseasonably warm temperatures and high relative humidity will allow for afternoon heat index values of 105 to 110 degrees on Tuesday. These dangerous heat index readings will last for several hours during the afternoon and into the evening hours.
Even though temperatures will drop off during the evening... there will be little relief... as overnight low temperatures range from 75 to 80 degrees.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and neighbors.
