Nowcast | as of 9:45 PM CST on February 28, 2015

At 9:45 PM...National Weather Service Doppler radars continued to indicate a mix of light freezing drizzle...light freezing rain and occasional light sleet falling over most of eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas. Some light snow was also indicated across far northwest Arkansas...while light rain was occurring over parts of far southeast Oklahoma. The precipitation has been at a minimum over locations west of Highway 75 in northeast Oklahoma. All precipitation continues to lift northeast at around 40 mph. Through 12:00 am...areas of light freezing drizzle...light freezing rain and light sleet will remain common for most locations. Some light snow may occur across far northwest Arkansas...however little accumulation is expected with this activity. Light rain will remain possible for locations across far southeast Oklahoma...generally along and south of a line from Atoka to Mena. The freezing line will continue to lift slowly northward with time...allowing for additional locations across far southeast Oklahoma to transition to mainly light rain. Many area roadways remain slick and hazardous...as such...any travel around eastern Oklahoma or northwest Arkansas is discouraged. If you must venture out this evening...drive carefully...and allow extra time to reach your destination. A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for all of eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas until 6 am CST Sunday.
