Statement as of 12:29 PM CDT on May 24, 2015

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the little Missouri River near Boughton.
* From Tuesday morning to Friday afternoon... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 11:00 am Sunday the stage was 8.8 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by late Tuesday morning and
continue to rise to near 21.5 feet by Wednesday morning.
Heavy rain is expected over the next two days
and this forecast will likely change. Please monitor the river
forecasts from the National Weather Service in Little Rock closely
over the next few days.
* Impacts at 20.0 feet... pastures along the river begins to flood.
Water backing up Half Moon Slough and Boggy Creek in southwest
Clark County.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Ouachita River at Arkadelphia.
* From Monday evening to Friday afternoon... or until the warning is
cancelled.
* At 11:00 am Sunday the stage was 13.9 feet.
* Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by tomorrow late evening and
continue to rise to near 24.0 feet by Wednesday morning.
Heavy rain is expected over the next two day and this forecast
will likely change. Please monitor the river forecasts
from the National Weather Service in Little Rock closely
over the next few days.
* Impacts at 24.0 feet... flooding near Hemphill Road and Maddox branch.
Fringe of Airport begins to flood. Roads impacted by high water include,
Clark County roads 9, 17, 19, 21, 28, 138, and 304 and state highways 7 and 51.

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect from 1 PM CDT this afternoon
through Tuesday afternoon...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of central Arkansas... north central Arkansas...
southwest Arkansas and western Arkansas... including the
following areas... in central Arkansas... Conway... Garland...
Perry... Pope... Saline and Yell. In north central Arkansas...
Boone... Marion... Newton... Searcy and Van Buren. In southwest
Arkansas... Clark... Hot Spring and Pike. In western Arkansas...
Johnson... Logan... Montgomery... Polk and Scott.

* From 1 PM CDT this afternoon through Tuesday afternoon

* widespread showers and thunderstorms will move into the state
from the west on Sunday afternoon. These storms will produce
rainfall amounts in excess of 2 to 4 inches statewide... with
locally higher amounts... in western Arkansas from Sunday
afternoon through Monday morning. A second round of heavy rain
is expected Monday afternoon through Tuesday afternoon and will
produce an additional 2 to 4 inches statewide... with locally
higher amounts... in southwest Arkansas.

* The soil across much of Arkansas remains saturated from the
heavy rainfall that occurred during the month of may. Many
rivers and streams are still at unseasonably high levels...
with any additional heavy rainfall only increasing the
potential for flash flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

... Lake Wind Advisory in effect from 11 am this morning to 9 PM
CDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a lake
Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 11 am this morning to
9 PM CDT this evening.

* Event... gusty southeast winds of 15 to 25 mph... with gusts over
30 mph.

* Areas affected... most of Arkansas

* timing... gusty winds will increase in speed this morning... and
will continue through the early evening hours. The winds will
slightly decrease tonight.

* Impacts... the breezy conditions will create hazardous conditions
on area bodies of water.


Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
