Along with the severe weather potential...these storms have been prolific rainfall producers with flash flooding already reported across portions of northeast Texas and southwest Arkansas. A cold front associated with this storm system will trigger a squall line... capable of producing very heavy rainfall... late this evening through Thursday morning. Rainfall amounts around 3 to 4 inches within the watch area can be expected through Thursday morning. However... isolated higher amounts up to 5 inches will also be possible... especially if caught under the heavier downpours of thunderstorms.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a lake Wind Advisory... which is in effect from 6 am to 6 PM CST Thursday.
A strong cold front will push across the region tonight into Thursday morning. Westerly to winds behind the front will increase to above 20 mph with gusts to near 30 mph during much of the day. Winds are forecast to diminish around sunset.

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
