A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 3 PM this afternoon to 6 am CST Friday.
Temperatures will continue falling throughout the day... reaching the middle 30s this afternoon over East Texas... as high pressure builds across the region. This area will begin to see areas of rain transitioning to snow from west to east this afternoon into this evening. Snow is expected to continue through the evening and into the overnight hours. Snow may be moderate at times... with average accumulations of 1 to 2 inches over the advisory area expected. In addition... strong northwesterly to westerly winds of 15 to 25 mph with higher gusts may result in areas of blowing snow across the advisory area. This combined with falling snow may bring periods of reduced visibilities.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that periods of snow will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads and limited visibilities... and use caution while driving.

A lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until midnight CST tonight.
High pressure behind a strong cold front will build across the region today. Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
