A heat advisory remains in effect from noon today to 9 PM CDT Sunday.
High pressure will bring hot temperatures to central and southern Arkansas through the weekend. Relative humidities will also be high... allowing for heat index values to climb to 105 to 110 degrees.
Also... overnight temperatures will only fall into the mid 70s... bringing little relief from the heat.
The heat advisory will likely be extended into the first part of next week as little change in the overall weather pattern is expected.
A heat advisory means that a period of hot temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of the sun... and check up on relatives and neighbors.
