Excessive Heat Warning
Statement as of 3:23 AM CDT on July 29, 2015

... Excessive heat warning remains in effect from 7 am this
morning to 7 PM CDT this evening...
... Heat advisory is cancelled...

The National Weather Service in Little Rock has cancelled the
heat advisory.

* Areas affected: the eastern third of the state... or east of a
line from Ash Flat... to Searcy... to Pine Bluff... to
Monticello.

* Heat index: afternoon and early evening heat index values are
expected to be over 110 degrees.

* Impacts: when it is this hot... and especially for a prolonged
time... heat illnesses become more of a concern.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of hot
temperatures and high humidity will combine to create a dangerous
situation in which heat illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of
fluids... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of the sun...
and check up on relatives and neighbors.
