...Hot and humid weather conditions continue across Arkansas...

Heat index values will reach the upper 90s to around 105 degrees today across parts of Arkansas...due to afternoon temperatures in the middle and upper 90s...and combined with elevated humidity levels. Southern Arkansas...and parts of central and eastern areas...will have the highest potential for heat index values to reach 100 to around 105 degrees. The main time frame for the highest heat index values will be from noon to around 5 PM CDT. These elevated heat index values will also continue over the weekend.

Extra caution should be used when outdoors. Make sure to drink plenty of water and limit the amount of time spent in the heat. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
