...Hot and humid weather conditions are expected across Arkansas...

Heat index values will reach 100 to around 105 degrees today across parts of Arkansas...due to afternoon temperatures in the middle and upper 90s...and combined with elevated humidity levels. Central and eastern areas of Arkansas will have the highest potential for heat index values to reach 100 around 105 degrees. The main time frame for the highest heat index values will be from noon to around 5 PM CDT.

Extra caution should be used when outdoors this afternoon. Make sure to drink plenty of water and limit the amount of time spent in the heat. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible...reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
