The Flash Flood Watch continues for * portions of central Alabama... east central Alabama... northeast Alabama... southeast Alabama and west central Alabama... including the following areas... in central Alabama... Autauga... Bibb... Blount... Chilton... Coosa... Dallas... Elmore... Jefferson... Lowndes... Montgomery... Perry... Shelby... St. Clair... Talladega and Walker. In east central Alabama... Calhoun... Chambers... Clay... Cleburne... Lee... Macon... Randolph... Russell and Tallapoosa. In northeast Alabama... Cherokee and Etowah. In southeast Alabama... Barbour... Bullock and Pike. In west central Alabama... Fayette... Greene... Hale... Marengo... Pickens... Sumter and Tuscaloosa. * Until noon CST today * a storm system moving towards the Florida Panhandle continue to spread rain into central Alabama today. Gusty easterly winds will develop this morning as a strong low pressure system continues across the northern Gulf of Mexico and into southern Georgia by this afternoon. Sustained winds will increase to around 15 mph. A few wind gusts up to 30 mph will be possible. Winds are expected to subside this afternoon. Precautionary/preparedness actions... Winds this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Drivers of vans... campers ... trailers... and other high-profile vehicles should be alert to the danger of these winds.
