Statement as of 7:00 PM CST on December 25, 2009 ... Near 50 year old yearly rainfall record broken at Pinson... Jefferson County cooperative observer James b. Price in Pinson, Alabama set a new yearly maximum rainfall total. The new record of 75.83 inches breaks the previous record set in 1961 of 74.87 inches set in 1961 by nearly a full inch. Thanks mr. Price for nearly 60 years of volunteer service.

12/24/2009 0545 PM 7 miles WSW of Tuscumbia, Colbert County. Thunderstorm wind damage, reported by trained spotter. High winds blew a portion of a roof off of a house. 12/24/2009 0654 PM Tuscumbia, Colbert County. Non-thunderstorm wind damage, reported by NWS employee.
