* Flood Warning for
the Cahaba river near Cahaba Heights.
* Until late Wednesday night... or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 8:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 15.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 16.9 feet by
tomorrow morning . The river will fall below flood stage Wednesday
afternoon .
* Impact... at 17.0 feet... flooding of some commercial property in the
area begins at stages near 18 feet

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or has been reported.
Stream rises will be slow and flash flooding is not expected.
However... all interested parties should take necessary precautions
immediately.

Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding. If flooding is observed act quickly. Move up to
higher ground to escape flood waters. Do not stay in areas subject to
