* Through this evening
* during the overnight hours of Sunday into Monday... several
elongating storm complexes dropped copious amounts of rain
across portions the watch area. Radar estimated up to 4 inches
of rain in some spots since midnight. Additional upstream storms
are expected to move from central Alabama southeastward
throughout today and merge with storms moving northeast from the
Gulf. These cell mergers will generate very heavy rainfall. This
could generate widespread flooding. Therefore a Flash Flood
Watch has been issued.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
