Flash Flood Watch
Statement as of 3:53 AM CST on November 10, 2009
... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through this afternoon...
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* a portion of northeast Alabama... including the following
areas... DeKalb... Jackson and Marshall.
* Through this afternoon
* the remnants of Tropical Storm Ida will move northward across
the Tennessee Valley today. As a result... heavy rainfall of 2 to
4 inches with locally higher amounts can be expected across
northeast Alabama. The heavy rainfall will begin taper off
later this evening.
Precautionary/preparedness actions...
A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
Now is the time to take any necessary precautions to protect life
and property... before the rain begins.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
