...Duck River electric scheduled power outage Thursday /April 24/... ...NOAA Weather Radio transmitter in Winchester affected...

The Duck River electric membership corporation has scheduled a power outage beginning Thursday /April 24/ at 8:00 am CDT. The outage is to upgrade electric services to customers in the Keith Springs mountain area in Franklin County, Tennessee. The outage is expected to last through noon /12 PM/ CDT Thursday.

This outage will knock out power to the Winchester NOAA Weather Radio transmitter /wng-554/ that broadcasts on a frequency of 162.525 mhz.

During the outage...persons across the listening area can attempt to get their weather information from other stations. These include:

Wwf-44 out of Fort Payne...transmitting on 162.500 mhz. Kih-20 out of Huntsville...transmitting on 162.400 mhz.
